Setting Up the Mobile App

You’ve downloaded the Rallies app. Now let’s get everything configured so you can get the most out of it.

Prerequisites

Before you begin:

• Download the Rallies app (iOS or Android)
• Have your Rallies account credentials ready (or be prepared to create an account)
• Ensure you have a stable internet connection for initial setup

Step 1: Sign In or Create an Account

Signing In to an Existing Account

1. Open the Rallies app
2. Tap “Sign In”
3. Choose your sign-in method:
   • Email and password - Enter your credentials directly
   • Continue with Google - Use your linked Google account
   • Continue with Apple - Use your linked Apple ID
4. If you have two-factor authentication enabled, enter your code when prompted
5. Wait for your data to sync (usually takes a few seconds)

Your watchlists, portfolios, AI conversation history, and settings automatically sync from the web version.

Creating a New Account

1. Open the app and tap “Sign Up”
2. Choose email, Google, or Apple sign-up
3. If using email, verify your email address
4. Complete your profile setup (optional)

Step 2: Configure Notifications

Push notifications are one of the biggest advantages of the mobile app.

Enabling Push Notifications

On iOS:

1. Tap “Allow” when prompted on first launch
2. If you missed the prompt: iPhone Settings > Rallies > Notifications > Toggle on

On Android:

1. Notifications are usually enabled by default
2. To verify: Phone Settings > Apps > Rallies > Notifications

Customizing Preferences

1. Open Rallies > Profile > Settings > Notifications
2. Toggle individual notification types on or off
3. Set quiet hours if you don’t want alerts at night

Step 3: Set Up Biometric Login

Skip typing your password every time by using Face ID, Touch ID, or Android biometrics. On iOS:

1. Go to Settings in the Rallies app
2. Tap Security
3. Toggle Face ID or Touch ID on
4. Authenticate to confirm

On Android:

1. Go to Settings in the Rallies app
2. Tap Security
3. Toggle Biometric Login on
4. Authenticate with your fingerprint or face

You can always fall back to your password if biometrics fail.

Step 4: Sync Your Portfolio

If you’ve connected a brokerage on the web, your portfolio syncs automatically. To connect from mobile:

Connecting a Brokerage

1. Tap Portfolio in the bottom navigation
2. Tap Connect Account or the + button
3. Search for your brokerage (Fidelity, Schwab, Robinhood, etc.)
4. Sign in through the secure Plaid window
5. Select which accounts to link
6. Your holdings will appear within seconds

Adding Holdings Manually

1. Tap Portfolio > Add Manually
2. Search for a stock by ticker or company name
3. Enter shares and cost basis (optional)
4. Tap Save

Step 5: Import Your Watchlists

Watchlists created on the web automatically appear in the mobile app. To create new ones:

1. Tap Watchlists in the bottom navigation
2. Tap + New Watchlist
3. Name your watchlist and add stocks
4. Your watchlist syncs to all devices instantly

Quick actions:

• Reorder - Tap and hold, then drag
• Rename - Tap the watchlist, then the edit icon
• Delete - Swipe left and tap Delete

Step 6: Configure App Preferences

Theme Settings

Go to Settings > Appearance and choose Light, Dark, or System (matches your phone).

Default Screen

Choose what you see when opening the app: Settings > General > Default Screen Options: Home, Chat, Watchlists, or Portfolio

Data Refresh

Control how often data updates in Settings > Data:

• Auto-refresh frequency
• Background refresh toggle
• WiFi-only option to save cellular data

Step 7: Enable Widgets (Optional)

Add Rallies widgets to your home screen for quick stock info. iOS:

1. Press and hold on your home screen
2. Tap + and search for Rallies
3. Choose Small (single stock), Medium (watchlist), or Large (portfolio)
4. Add and configure the widget

Android:

1. Press and hold on your home screen
2. Tap Widgets and find Rallies
3. Drag to your home screen and configure

Verifying Your Setup

After completing setup, verify everything works:

• You can sign in without issues
• Push notifications are enabled
• Biometric login works
• Your portfolio data appears correctly
• Watchlists are synced from web

Troubleshooting Initial Setup

Data not syncing

• Check that you’re signed into the same account on all devices
• Pull down to refresh
• Sign out and sign back in

Notifications not arriving

• Verify notifications are enabled in both app and phone settings
• Check that Do Not Disturb is off
• On Android, disable battery optimization for Rallies

​

Biometric login fails

• Ensure biometrics are set up in your phone’s settings first
• Disable and re-enable biometric login in the app

Do I need to set up the app separately from the web?

No. Once you sign in, everything syncs automatically. The setup steps above are optional customizations.
